i planned to play basketball one last time in 2004. but it just had to rain. arghh.

as i listen to the school song (here), i remember the countless times we're in the hall for assembly, how mdm chee would raise one finger and we all have to follow and shut up. how loke-yeo exaggerates her mouth movemnet so much just to sing the song. the words of the song just comes naturally to me, i feel proud to be a tkgian. top school? far from it. hideous green uniform? so what? personally i think our uniform is quite nice. well, for one last time as a true blue (or rather green) tkgian, we will sing the school song. or maybe just read it.

we cannot all be heroes and thrill a hemisphere
with some great daring venture, some deed that mocks at fear
but we can fill a lifetime with kindly acts and true
there's always noble service for noble souls to do

we're not all blessed with beauty, nor everyone with brains
but each frin every other has something good to gain
so let us make an effort to keep it as a rule
that each one needs the other within the katong school

then let us fill the hours with minutes truly spent
in helping one another towards a true content
so let us serve in honour and work for selfless fame
for credit of our country and glory of her name.

even if we cant remember all the lyrics, we'll never forget the last line we love so much.

as promised, here's my long and sappy paragraphs. click. i have to admit that it took me really long to write it. or maybe cos i kept putting it off. im sorry some ppl got very short paragraphs cos i prolly didnt know what to say. or maybe cos im super tired and can hardly think of what to write. bottom line is, you have made an impact in my life and will be remembered. if you want to protest about not having enough lines or that you were not mentioned, feel free to do so.

my eyes can hardly open. im off to bed.

why everybody. thank you for the concern you have shown for my hair. what i can say is that it returned pretty much to its original state after i finally got rid of thay disgusting hair wax the hairdresser slapped onto my hair. im sorry to disappoint the ppl who love to see me on a bad hair day.

i am in serious lack of sleep. had a bloody movie marathon last night. fell asleep during too fast too furious. seriously i have totally no interest in cars. then got woken up by the incessant discussion about the exorcist. oh btw the exorcist wasnt that scary after all. and then we had jackass 3, which did not live up to the amusement of jackass 1. in fact, it was stupid and plain porn. thank god for my myopia and sleepiness. lastly, we had spiderman 2! of course it rocked ;)) so this was the bloody movie marathon from 0130hrs to 0800hrs.

i am stoning. and super cranky. the only thing keeping me going is my caffeine. i dunno whats the aim of this blogging. my brain is seriously fizzling out. show some love ppl.

i have no idea whats there to say about my hair. maybe except, thin, thin and thinner. was rather sick of my not-long-not-short hair, and therefore i headed to the hairdresser. this is just one of the many shitty times when your hair doesnt turn out well and if you try to cut it anymore you'll come out with as much hair as an eighty-year-old man. maybe wee would want to say im rash. but hey, at least hair grows back. -smirks-

can you imagine how horrific it would be to have waves as high as my house rushing at you? i cant, and dont want to. therefore, we should thank indonesia for blocking the live-taking tsunami from singapore. and of course, my utmost condolences to those who lost their loved ones and we shall all hope (or pray for the religious ones) that the death toll would simply stop climbing.

pictures are up! click. a few shots of kcc gang at the beach, if youre hoping to see any guys, you will be sorely disappointed. the rest of the photos are of twc and the christmas decorations at orchard. i think most of the decor shots cant be seen, therefore you should head down to town and check them out.

went to the beach with the kcc gang in the afternoon. was the first one to get wet cos i kept losing the scissors-paper-stone game. every time i lose i take one step forward and i lost so many times i was drenched after playing like ten times only. i am just so unlucky. poor huiyi got dragged down into the sea. like from the top of the shore all the way down. and then we went swimming. and floating around in the sea. damn shiok.

when you go to the food village, DONT buy the coconuts. they conned me of my four bucks. the first one i bought was too raw, and the second too old that the juice was sour. so, just stick to the safer drinks like the 100% sugarcane juice. wahaha. (wee: pun fully intended.)

went to meet the twc at tony romas feeling gross and salty. dinner was not over the top, since we shared the food. the waiter was like, "can i take your order?" and ahsoh pointed at me and said "i ordered liao. we're sharing." thats what hanny did too. and the waiter was taken aback. wahaha. as usual we were embarrassing ourselves with all the noise we made. and sam had to ask, "can we have free water?" -puts paper bag over my head-

and then we hit town and simply just squeezed with the crowd. went to the fair, which was extremely stupid cos a viking ride cost six freaking bucks. was about to go home (and for the day to end nicely) when ahsoh realised she lost her wallet. after some detective work, sam and co concluded that someone cut ahsoh's bag open and picked her wallet. so ahsoh got pickpocketed. you stupid thief. you will come to a bad death. it sucks to lose your wallet. condolences to ahsoh ;(

my christmas layout. i think the only christmas-y thing about this layout is the song playing. thats about all. i was thinking along the same lines as wanjie when i made this. the abominable snowman which was set in the charades during class chalet. we didnt know how to spell it at that time. but now i do (i think its correct anyway). i miss charades. very much.

after leaving my sappy paragraphs aside for so long, i have been gently prodded by sam to continue writing and get it done as soon as possible. well. i promise that it'll be up very very soon. the latest by the 31st december. actually 31st december would be an appropriate time to put it up. so yeah. for all those who cant wait too see their names (eg. sam), patience my friends ;))

was rather moody the whole day. cos of the posting obviously. i must admit, it is difficult to just let it be. i stare at my posting result and my irrational mind came up with many questions. the rational side provided answers, but sometimes led to even more questions. sort of a mini forum.

*ir = irrational
*r = rational
ir: what if i took up hcl in sec one?
r: you didnt even qualify.
ir: well if i had studied more for psle then i would have made it.
r: but you didnt.
ir: okay okay. but what if i appealed? then i would be taking hcl and get that two bonus points.
r: yaya and you would have never met the wonderful people you met in 2e6'02. and you'll prolly fail hcl and not get your two points.
ir: good point. -shuts up-

ir: hey, how about if i didnt take history and took geog instead? then history wouldnt be killing my score.
r: youve never passed geog in sec one remember.
ir: but geog elective is only human geog.
r: what makes you think that you'll excel in it?
ir: what makes you think i wont?!
r: well we wouldnt know till youve tried. if you took geog you would be in 4e3 and 4e2 and you would not be in the best class youve ever had.
ir: very very good point. -clears any thoughts of geography-

pointless, but oh well. if i did appeal of higher chinese and took geography, i may be more competitive in my aggregate. but i suppose that the people ive gotten to know mean a lot more to me. now we're on the topic of my dear friends, i have yet to complete the long promised sappy entry. in actual fact i only finish writing for twc. if im quick, maybe i'll actaully be able to publish it the same time next year. haha. but when im done, you will be informed. no worries.

mom brought me to a chinese restaurant for dimsum buffet. that did cheer me up a little. how can anyone stay moody with such glorious food. haha. went for emma's piano concert. sorry to say, it was boring. except for emma's finale of course. simply the best! after emma played her piece, wnajie fell asleep, joann somehow looked quite perky, and i was practically prying my eyes apart to stay awake. this time round, there was no bird flying around to amuse us. and so once again, we left at the intermission. i have learnt my lesson to not attend piano concerts anymore. unless it's emma's personal concert of course. haha.

the posting's out, im off to temasek. didnt had much hope in getting into vjc, so im not too disappointed. but somehow, i wished i got sajc instead. prolly because im very into new and different things now. oh well. whatever it is, i'll simply let it be. something miss yong said, made being nonchalant easier. "whatever jc you go to, you'll still be taking the same exam at the end of two years". not her exact words (sorry emma ;p), but something to that extent.

stayed over at keli's house yesterday. the bballers were supposed to go too, but they didnt turn up in the end. so it was a 2/6 night. actually there was only keli, monica, ber and i. too bad i forgot to take pictures, or i'll be able to give a virtual tour of keli's new house. well, her living room has a super huge and comfy sofa, beautiful curtains and most wow-worthy, a 42-inch plasma television set. now i come back home and find my tv too small.

when the tv shows got boring, we baked cookies. at twelve midnight. sounds absurd but it was fun. only thing was that we added too much butter and the cookies expanded too much. so it came out really flat and burnt.

slept with monica in the living room on the super comfy couch. we had both learnt our lesson to never share a room with ber, especially if you actually want to get some sleep. unfortunately keli had no such experience and very innocently agreed to let ber sleep in her room. so she woke up today and complained about how ber disturbed her throughout the night, or rather morning.

went shopping for the bbq things with the kcc gang. terrible people, low budget still want so much stuff. they seriously need more experience in organising barbeques.

tmr's the seventeen, tmr's the day. if you unluckily didnt get posted into the school of your choice, dont be too upset, simply let it be (the 4e2 motto) ;)

i went out with a gay lunatic (wanjie) and a more normal emma today. we went to nus for vjc's piano ensemble mini-concert. im feeling rather accomplishted since we didnt get lost at all ;)) thinking that it would be a formal event, i decided to grace the concert with by wearing a skirt. however it was a sore disappointment. the concert was held in the dance theatre, which was no bigger than our tkgs studio. chairs werent even arranged until the very last minute.

what is most disappointing is the music. well i wasnt expecting some pop music, but the least they could do was some captivating classical songs. however they failed miserably. cos i was falling asleep and even thought my nails were interesting. actually, the bird that flew into the studio (yes that's how laopoksai the place is) was more amusing. it was knocking into the glass windows every thirty seconds and chirping at the right intervals to complement the pieces.

when the intermission came, it was freedom cos we quickly fled the place and seeked refuge in ikea. i like ikea. its full of colourful things and fresh ideas. and the soft beds and comfy couches. oh and emma's favourite cheap hotdogs. wonderful place. however i just realised that the swedish meatballs are made of beef and pork which means i cant eat them. ;(

so why is wanjie a gay lunatic? cos she yak-ed nonstop about nonsensical things and kept disturbing emma and i with her gay "hey emma" or "hey xinyi". well you know how gross wanjie can get. and she was dancing (gayly i must say) in the rather crowded train.

the gay used in this context is of, relating to, or having a sexual orientation to persons of the same sex, not merry, bright or lively.

my msn photo is causing much controversy. sam thinks i look like a pokemon. cos she's imagining my hair to flap like her solar powered two leaf plant gredforge. and she claims that i'll look like a pokemon then. and she thinks i can fly with my flapping hair. sidewalk breeze. says: mabbe u'd even fly. thats her on msn.

well. this one's even better. christine claims that i look as if i have a toothache. empty handed, but alive in Your hands says: i just saw your photo
empty handed, but alive in Your hands says: what are you doing
empty handed, but alive in Your hands says: tooth ache ah?

what wild imagination my friends have. to give your few cents of worth, see me on msn. im very liberal. i am open to whatever you can think of.

went bowling with the cheelees minus leandra and queen (someone was rather disappointed -hint) and juzzy and ber at katong shopping centre. so ulu pandan and cheap. was definitely fun, since i didnt bowl thaat badly ;D wanjie took some photos, so do check them out here. btw, sam looks awfully funny. with her haircut and weird expressions.

went for katong laksa after that, and needless to say, it was superb. so was the otah. yum. played ball with monica and chris in the evening. and we met someone who sounded like mr yeo. both the voice and how they speak. and pretty gross looking too. haha.

i am back! -hears ppl cheering- wahaha.

day 1 drove up to kl, checked into the istana hotel. in case youre wondering, its under meritus, not the president of the republic of singapore. went to this dimsum place which served pretty average food with a pretty steep price tag. then of course, we went shopping! got myself five tshirts, four from body glove and one from levi's. (note: do check out body glove if youre heading to msia cos it is cheeeap!

it started to rain really heavily when we were in 7-11 so we got stuck there. and it was there where i saw a toro lookalike. he looked exactly like toro i swear. just of slightly smaller build. went for dinner at this road which i have no idea what it is called. but it was filled with hawker stalls which did serve very good food. especially the stingray! but still nothing can beat the one at fengshan.

day 2 visited the batucaves. its this indian mythology place where you have to climb like 200 steps just to get there. 200 steps may sound little but it was definitely tiring. now we know how tough the vertical marathon at swissotel is. then we headed to midvalley the megamall. we were lost for like an hour, due to the lousy navigator my brother is. but the highways in kl are kinda confusing. didnt shop much there even though it is the MEGAmall. only got myself a nike tshirt and my very tired parents (the 200 steps really wore them out you see) decided to head back to the hotel.

----------CUT. im pretty bored of my entry so i'll keep it short.

day 3 left kl for afamosa (its a hotel resort). my dad wanted to try the yong tau foo, so he drove to the small town of seremban on his friend's recommendation. after getting lost for who knows how long (well im no good navigator either. it runs in the family.), we got to the yong tau foo place to find it close. so they close on tuesdays. greaaat. anyway. the afamosa place was kinda boring. cos it was too late to go to the safari and the water park was closed. (the water park closes on tuesday too. lesson learnt: just go shopping in kl on tuesdays.) went to the cowboy town at night, and watched the cowboy parade. yeah duh.

day 4 we head back home and here i am.

for the long and mawkish and draggy think-back entry that i am supposed to post after my kl trip which is now, do check back soon.

short one-liners (or two) about everyone in 4e2. something typically xinyi, definitely different from sam's sappy paragraphs. read. oh btw. teachers included.

4e2 chalet, 29th november 2004 to 1st december 2004. for photos, click here.

will not go into long details about the chalet. the pictures speak for themselves. like what they always say, a picture speaks a thousand words. since ive got 80+ photos, ive got at least eighty thousand words there.

the main thing we did for this chalet was charades. totally loved it. all the ulu pandan shows joann watches that i have to act out. how keowkoon scared everyone by acting as a ghost for the spirit of tkgs. how oddy did her scarecrow act. how sam did her sex and the city. now i cant look at someone with centre-parting and not laugh. neither can i look at michael jordan without thinking of river jordan. so much fun!

on the second night, leandra made her speech to about fifteen of us. obviously it wasnt too effective cos she only made sam and emma cry. however, ms just said a few words of thanks and she shot everyone down. but well, 30th november 2245h is one moment to remember.
