basketball camp 2006. new experiences, and kinda fun. it was similar to last year's camp, except that things were made worse.
2005 - nightwalk in school; 2006 - nightwalk in old CGH.
this camp is so amelia, in the sense that it was tiring in every aspect. it so happened (or was it pre-planned?) that we had to run for our buses. even the route to old CGH was tiring. long stretch of uphill, we attributed our sweat to heat instead of fear. when xiao j broke down before the walk, i was very affected, to whether i should go on, or to take the easy way out.
i went on in the end, in a bigger group, into old CGH. basically, it was so dark inside, there was nothing much that could be seen. despite so, i didnt dare to look around. i just grabbed amanda's arm and stared at chawmeng's back. we almost took a wrong turn, the thought of being almost lost is frightening. it was as though we were the leads of some horror movie.
after getting out of the old CGH, we went back in another time, to go up to the rooftop. (we had to climb six storeys, see what i mean by tiring?) everyone went in together, it wasnt scary anymore. the rooftop smelled of rust, but the place was windy, the moon was bright, it was pretty calming.
2005 - run to east coast macs; 2006 - run to bedok reservoir and uphill sprints.
we were cheated to run there, on the pretext to watch the sunrise. the run was actually alright, maybe cos the route was shorter than last year, or i would prefer to think that i became fitter ;D it was the sprints that really killed me. couldnt summon the strength in my legs to continue after the third sprint, couldnt breathe through the excessive mucus in my nose. surprisingly, the last sprint was the easiest of all. the girls held hands and ran up, maybe team spirit really pushes everyone's limits.
2005 - man carry someone along the girls' route; 2006 - man carry someone along a slightly shorter route, but up an even crazier hill than lucky heights. luckily, there was no time for that. praise the lord. wahahaa.
the camp was also filled with surprises. old CGH was definitely a shocker. second surprise was when don brought us all to the walkway next to the netball court, and announced that that would be our sleeping place. everyone went 'huhhhh!' immediately. then came the bigger surprise - we were going to sleep in hammocks! how cool is that! the girls couldnt find anyone to play friendly with, so miss ang got the seniors down to play with us. but on saturday morning, sac trooped in to play with us.
oh yeah, whats a camp without the OM kaopehing. but this time, it wasnt on me, but marcus. he was carrying a chair from the canteen and the OM caught him.
OM: (kaopeh)
marcus: (tries to cook up some explanation)
OM: have you asked permission to take the chair?
now, doesnt that line sound familiar?

havent updated for quite awhile yeah. sometimes i miss blogging. got past all my tests, its the holidays now, oh yeah.
the year threes got got their results some time back. really proud of my seniors, they did so well! i almost felt like running away with my senior's result slip when she showed it to me. it was really sweet, 4As and A2 for gp. if i could do just as well.
last week was second orientation for the year ones. many new faces, many old ones too. felt really bad to see some go against their will, and really glad to see those who stayed, whether or not they chose to. hahaha.
holidays are gonna fly, time moves extremely quickly when youre having fun. someone should teach time how to move - fast in class, slow when things rock. happy holidays.
