i think im going crazy, awake at this kinda time. well, lemme just do a little update.
did two camps already, as i watch the laojiaos (meaning experienced instructors), just feel that i have so much to learn from them. but overall, camps are fun!
and i ate this. yummylicious!
and this is my ftp group tetra! dont ask me why i look so high.
and thank god for kim and frances. and ben and the rest, but no pictures of them lah, haha.
college day, just as i expected. thousands of people getting awards, yawn. and the sad thing about these kinda things is when no one claps for you, no one to share your success. thank god for our parents - they are our loudest applause (not necessarily literally lah!). a parent of a particular person rushed down to just below the stage simply to take a photo of his son receiving his awards like a school photographer, wow. my mom didnt do all that, but at least she sat through the boring two hours ceremony just to watch her daughter on stage for ten seconds.
the things parents do for their children is really touching. sneaked out (or rather, just walked out) of the ceremony after getting my award and hung out with aman, foo and zhizhan in the temasek lounge. just catching up with one another and talking about random things, then foo mentioned about how a parent knelt down and begged a bus-driver for forgiveness because his son punched him (the bus-driver). really, the son don't deserve such a father. we only left the lounge when the ceremony ended, only to realise that the lounge is meant for the VIPs. oops, i kinda made myself at home and took off my heels and sat cross-legged on the sofa. sorry minister!
today while i was shopping in esprit, i saw an old lady standing there, looking lost and frail. after trying on some clothes, i walked out of the fitting room, she was still there, probably waiting for her daughter. seriously, in what way does she deserve this, after spending half her life caring and bringing her kid up? how can anyone bear to do that? sigh, i was pondering if i should go talk to her, and if i did, what do i say? and i hurriedly left the place. then, i thought, what if her daughter left her there? had this bad sinking feeling in my stomach for not doing anything. dr vivian balakrishnan said
"success is determined by how many lives you have touched." cliched, but true in some sense, no?
i think of all the parents out there and i think,
can i be them one day?on to the lighter stuff, pity i forgot my camera, or it would be great taking photos with everyone. and of the newly placed cows in the grasspatch along the walkway connecting LT1 and LT2. oh yeah, and i managed to catch a glimpse of the college gift of class 05/06. basically it just looked like some red balls stick out of pretty bushes. its like:
friend A: hey friend B, your birthday's coming soon right? what do you want for a present?
friend B: oh, i dunno, you choose!
friend A: how about a weather vane?
friend B: hmm, how about i make a list and you choose from there? here goes, blazers, stadium lights for my field, bells for my classrooms, water heaters for my bathrooms, blahblah.
friend A: okay, water heaters then! (takes out money to pay)
friend B: (takes the money) actually, now i want a bush with red balls sticking out of it!

well, the above is the blueprint of the weather vane i was talking about. i remember how 11o5 was so excited about it, we even named it the TJ COCK. and giving all sorts of reasons why it would be the perfect college gift, going on about how tj gives us our sense of direction (just as the weather vane) and how the colours represented what of the school. and most importantly, its usefulness as a convenient place to meet, like:
friend X: hey, meet you at the library later!
friend Y: thats so far away, how about meeting at the cock instead?
friend X: sure, see you there!
anyway, photos for spiderman 3 with twc
here. cant believe that im missing pirates with twc, cos a camp came up. i even planned to wear my carribean belt again! and now i have to find other company for pirates, such a difficult thing to do, because every other person is probably watching it with the other person.
my first camp starts tomorrow, and my derdeng has to come. sigh. looking on the bright side, at least it is a day camp and by my next camp, it should be gone! the school's in clementi, i dont even want to start thinking about what time i have to wake up by. but still pretty much hyped up about it, please let the kids be good!

you know whats the best thing about internet chats? you can be crying in front of the chat window and yet nobody will know, unless you decide to reveal it. people might even think youre happy and all, the way you joke. thats what i like about msn, it hides your vulnerability and protects you from the world.

decided to add a little photos here and there in this post, so i can entertain cherlyn while she sits at her comfy job. i think she's just about the highest earner i know, especially for the amount of work she does. tsk. visited her a few days back, only thought i would spend awhile there, but i ended up talking to her till her shop closed at 8. i was there since 5, and only one person walked into the shop. it really isnt much of a job, is it? now we know why the MRP theory has its flaws in explaining wage differentials - because it left out the difference in generosity of bosses.
but well, it wasnt a futile trip, kudos to cherlyn. because number one, she introduced me to online shopping! hahaha, its really quite satisfying to sit at the computer and just click click click. retail therapy minus the walking, ahh. number two, while i lamented that i have no reply from nus, she reminded me that i could actually check my nus application status online!
sometimes cherlyn's a genius.
so i went online and checked, all i got was "Your current status is Application processing." yeap, okay slowpokes. anyway, i got a placement in ntu accountancy, and im really proud of myself! like how they hinted in the letter that i should be since i got in, indirectly suggesting the popularity of the course, gee. oh yeah, and its byebye to imperial, if anyone's interested.

okay this was quite a few weeks back, hanging out with chaiyun and doong before he enlisted. yeah, so we wore our tj shirts and fbts (not him too, duh) to town just to pretend to be students and get the student price at yuki yaki. but who could have known, chaiyun lost her student pass just the day before. oh well. the food wasnt that great and they were struggling to finish the sashimi, i felt sick just by watching them.

this was somewhen last week, the two of us decided to lunch with nad at her workplace, before he enlists. sorry nad, forgot to take the photo while you were still there, but its okay since i'll still have time to visit you again!

then there's the annual 4e2 april babies gathering at airport swensens, more photos
here. for april babies 2 years back, find it
here! didnt take photos at the other two, so no photos for those. well, this year's our fourth april babies, probably the last, with everyone flying off and all. we didnt get our usual table, instead we had to make do with splitting into two tables. tried to catch up with everyone on their jobs, where they're going for university, the boyfriend gossips, yadayada. if everyone gets their way, we're gonna have doctors, nurses, therapists, economists, lawyers, accountants, businesswomen, basically all sorts of people. wow, how cool is that. its kinda weird, now we're all grown up. it juts never occurred to me that one day, we'll evolve into all those. im glad everyone's doing well, and for those who's not, your turn will come soon alright?

im quite proud of this! its not that i've never seen a hundred dollar bill before, because i have. but its my first time owning one, thanks to my student ;) oh yeah, so right now, i work just four hours a week, with two kids on my hand. and nagging and tutoring my sister too, if thats considered work too, since my mom actually pays me for that, in allowance form. life's rocking huh.

and life's really rocking with this, courtesy of menny ;) actually i havent even opened it, but im really excited. baileys, mint and chocolate, what can get better? hahaha ;)
"the cure for this is a good dose of bad bak chor mee." how uncannily familiar. brilliant, really.
spidey on saturday with twc, phantom on sunday with twc! probably only this is better than baileys, mint and chocolate.
and a shoutout to may babies, in case i forget when your birthday comes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS AND GIRLS!
